Ireland, Get Your Camera's Ready!
As most of you probably know, tomorrow morning will be a partial solar eclipse ... total solar eclipses are very rare for any given location, something along the lines of once in 400 years. Tomorrow the moon will eclipse will be about 91% of the sun, making for one of, if not the best eclipses we will see in our life times in Ireland.
This makes for a fantastic photography opportunity for us!
So I would like to encourage all of you to get out and take some photos. The Eclipse will begin around 8:20 and peak about 9:30. www.irishtimes.com/news/scienc…
Submit your best shots to the irelandART Community folder and we will do a special feature showing the eclipse from all of our various vantage points in Ireland. Happy Shooting!
Oh, and don't forget ... looking directly at the sun is very dangerous and can damage your eyes. Always wear protection.

Saint Patrick's Day Feature!
There is a full scale crisis here at IrelandArt HQ... It appears the leprechauns have chewed through the broadband cables, leaving us completely off grid!
So please forgive us if this feature is lacking in style, as it is at last being written on a phone, on a very questionable 3g connection.

This year I wanted everybody to be able to get involved on an even wider scale... so rather than a challenge or a contest, I would like to do a feature for everyone and anyone who wants to be in our Paddy's Day feature journal!

Shamrokon Art Show August 2014 Dublin
Shamrokon is the Irish edition of Eurocon - the Europe-wide sci-fi and fantasy convention. It will take place on August 22-24 2014 in Dublin. All the details are here: http://www.shamrokon.ie/
The Shamrokon Art Show, as the website says, will feature a selection of artists working in the unique and creative field of science fiction, fantasy and horror. They will display their work alongside the art of our Guest of Honour, Jim Fitzpatrick.
